When preparing slides for a service, meeting, or broadcast, one of the biggest stress points is making sure your text looks good and your backgrounds are consistent. That’s where templates come in.
Templates are one of the most foundational parts of FreeShow. With a single click, you can define the size, font, color, and position of your text — and even add extra elements like timers, progress bars, or camera feeds.
Why Templates Matter
Consistency: Every slide looks professional and uniform.
Flexibility: You can still tweak individual slides.
Peace of Mind: No more cut-off text or unreadable fonts.
Backgrounds: Should You Lock Them In?
Here’s a common question: should backgrounds be tied to templates or kept separate?
Tied to Templates = Locked. Great for static looks, but you’ll have to build a new template every time you want a different background.
Tied to Shows = Flexible. Drag a new background onto your first slide, and the whole show updates without affecting your templates.
👉 Pro Tip: Keep motion backgrounds separate. Otherwise, each slide switch restarts the video loop.
With this foundation in place, you’ll already save hours of time and headaches. In Part 2, we’ll dive into the three ways you can actually create your own templates to fit your unique workflow.Title
