Hey everyone, this is Gary with GaryBjr.com, and I’m excited to share another great tool to enhance your FreeShow experience! One of the most common questions I get is, “Where did you get all the Bibles you downloaded for FreeShow?” The truth is, I pulled them from multiple sources, and to make it easier for you, I’ve compiled them all into a free download available on my website.
Free Bible Downloads for FreeShow
Instead of searching different sites and trying to figure out what’s safe to download, I’ve put together a media toolkit that includes six or seven different Bible versions you can use in FreeShow. Here’s what you’ll find:
English Standard Version (ESV)
New Living Translation (NLT)
Amplified Bible (AMP)
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
New King James Version (NKJV)
The Message (MSG)
New International Version (NIV)
These files are all safe to download, and I’ve made sure you have easy access without the hassle of navigating confusing sites.
How to Add These Bibles to FreeShow
Once you’ve downloaded the Bible files, follow these steps to integrate them into FreeShow:
Open FreeShow and navigate to the Scriptures section at the bottom of the screen.
On the left-hand side, click New Scripture to open the import options.
FreeShow provides a list of API-based Bibles, but if you want to use the local files, select Local on the right-hand side.
All of the Bible files are in XML format, and I recommend selecting Zephaniah as the import type.
Locate the downloaded Bible file, select it, and click Open.
Once imported, FreeShow may list it under a default name like English N-A-U—you’ll need to rename it properly.
Right-click the entry, select Rename, and type the correct Bible version (e.g., “New American Standard Bible”).
Hit Enter to lock it in, and your new Bible version is ready to use!
Checking Your Imported Bible
To verify your Bible is working:
Select a scripture and see if the text updates correctly.
If necessary, refresh the selection by choosing a different version and switching back.
Using Multiple Bible Versions in FreeShow
You can share multiple Bible versions side by side, but FreeShow has a rule: API-based Bibles and local Bibles cannot be mixed as you share.
To share different local versions:
Open Scriptures and select multiple local Bibles by holding CMD or CTRL key while clicking each of them (e.g., NASB and NKJV).
Right click and select "New Collection."
Use a pre-made FreeShow template that supports multiple versions (like Scripture 2, 3, or 4).
Select your preferred translations, and the template will automatically update.
Why I Love FreeShow
I’ve worked with many presentation programs over the years, but FreeShow stands out because:
It’s completely free (huge plus for small ministries and organizations).
It works on both Mac and Windows.
It’s powerful yet simple to use.
The FreeShow developers have done an amazing job, and I’m committed to making this the best resource for those learning the software. If this guide was helpful, be sure to check out my website for the free Bible downloads and other media toolkits to enhance your presentations.
Until next time, happy presenting!
