Now that you understand why templates matter (and how to handle backgrounds), let’s get practical. Here are three ways to create your own templates in FreeShow:
1. Start from Scratch
Go to Templates → New Template
Add a text box, set it to auto-size (always!), and adjust fonts, borders, and padding.
For scriptures, add a second text box for references.
2. Duplicate & Edit Defaults
Right-click a default template → Duplicate → Edit.
Change fonts, sizes, or even color-code Bible versions (e.g., KJV in white, ASV in yellow).
Always turn on auto-size so text never runs over.
3. Turn a Finished Slide into a Template
Sometimes the fastest way to build is to start with a finished product.
Fully design your slide the way you want it.
Drag it into your Templates drawer.
Boom—it’s now a reusable template!
This method is perfect for special layouts like game-show slides, sermon series, or event-specific designs.
In Part 3, we’ll explore how to take templates to an advanced level: lower-thirds for livestreams, automated style changes, and bonus tricks to brand your slides like a pro.
